Deviled Eggs

A Classic Deviled Egg Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Method

  1. 01

    Place the six large eggs in a medium pot and cover them with cold water by one inch.

    Bring the water to a boil over high heat.

  3. 03

    Cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes.

    Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes to cool completely.

    Peel the eggs, slice them in half lengthwise, and gently remove the yolks into a small bowl. Place the empty whites on a serving plate.

    Mash the yolks finely with a fork. Mix in the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, until smooth and creamy.

    Add salt and pepper to taste

    Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture evenly back into the egg white halves.

  9. 09

    Sprinkle the tops with paprika and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
